What is there to say if we are not familiar with his work? A critique of Marxism or Stalinism is not necessarily a bad thing. I remember reading the original of Jack London's resignation from the CP; if you read the letter, it's clear that he resigend because he did not think the CP was radical enough; if you read a "report" of the resignation, you might conclude that he resigned because he had switched sides.
No intellectual has ever been punished in the West for being an anti communist/marxist/stalinist, and some obviously are well rewarded. Whether that means that their work is suspect or worthless can only be discovered by reading that work.
