As an American, I can't see anything unprecedented here. Reagan? Ventura?
This is the downside to a celebrity/entertainment culture: entertainers are
accustomed to making big money for their owners. The genius of those who
drafted Reagan back in '64 was to take this to the electoral level, and it
remains a viable model. An evolving one at that.
