I quoted:

This process has especially intensified after the series of pogroms [raids] staged against Caucasus natives on the Russian markets.

--- BTW most people I know are convinced that the pogrom in the Tsarytsino market that left three dead was too well organized to be a real pogrom (the word in contemporary Russian refers to any spontaneous outporing of mass street violence, e.g. football hooligans are refered to as pogromchiky). In their opinion, what you had was a commercial dispute between whoever controlled the market in question and a rival. According to this widely-held theory, the later paid a group of skinheads to wreck the place, so that it would appear to be an ethnic rather than a "business" dispute.
