What's wrong with walking?
You prefer cheap nuclear energy that will involve shipping nuclear waste all over the country just to fuel public transportation? Public transit may be better than a world where everybody drives a vehicle, but even public transit has its problems. In Washington, DC, the Metro system has become a primary engine of gentrification, as well as a system the reinforces existing class and race differences.
