Yes, support for Perot in '92 was very articulate and strategic; people who backed him could cite his views on any number of issues; the ones I met had very well developed views, compared to most folks. Also a greater tendency to political action compared to liberals; lots of first hand involvement in GOTV, etc.
Support for Nader (like for Jerry Brown in '92) in my observation is confined to people with little experience of electoral politics.
