Translation of the FTQ laconic communique...

An FTQ union got certification in a Wal-Mart store in
Jonquiere

The Quebec Labor Relation Commission just gave
certification to an FTQ affiliated union to represent
the workers of the Jonquiere Wal-Mart store said
Madame Marie-Josée Lemieux, president of Local 503 of
the UFCW
[TUAC-FTQ]. "The union represent a strong majority of
the workers of the store. We now hope that Wal-Mart
will accept this decision and will negociate a contrat
with the union", Madame Lemieux add. The Jonquiere
store is now the only unionised Wal-Mart store in the
whole of North-America.

The FTQ is the biggest Quebec union center,
representing more then half a milion members.
