The suck part is that all anyone will see first blow is that he resigned and came out, thinking that that is the reason. Might be what he said, too, but per the story on NPR (yes, I know, even NPR is suspect these days), McGreevy has also had a sexual harrassment suit filed against him, in addition to the other scandals and in addition to the "adultery" crapola (a selective concern for some, no doubt). Per NPR, tHe logic behind him announcing his resignation effective November 15th is to avoid a gubernatorial election in NJ in November(which is allegedly is in Kerry's win column) which would detract from the presidential race and Kerry's supposed win there.
Sounds like McGreevy got either the "blessing" or "order" from the DNC to do this now.
The appearance of improprieties regarding influence peddling and conflict of interest appear to have been gaining momentum. Again, it sucks that he's given the impression to so many that the real reason he's abdicating is because he's gay and had some affairs. I think we'll find the real reasons to be much more disgusting.
