Why the binary choice? Why is it always either total worship, or an
equally total abjuration? That's theocracy, not critique. Moore did a
great job of diagnosing what Zizek would call the Desert of the
Bananamerican Real: this is what the Empire looks like, all mangled
corpses and shell-shocked relatives and brutality and death for the poor,
but obscene profits and golf courses and smiling handshakes for the
wealthy.
