Radicals, right or left, are always dissatisfied, by definition. Only a radical revolution (according to their precise prescriptions) would satisfy them.

A different phenomenon is burn-out, which afflicts not only radicals but more moderate activists who commit themselves to sweeping changes, but after working for a number of years don't see any progress toward them. In other words, they almost always bite off a lot more than they can chew, and it takes a while to realize that. As far as I know, there are two cures: (1) adjust your goals so that you try to accomplish only what is humanly possible for you, as an individual, to do (2) take a vacation and then plunge in again.
