Consolidated Deisel (Cummins) workers in North Carolina wish to bring a wages and hours suit aimed at making the employer pay promised 2002 bonuses. Their agreement over bonuses is based on the company's clearing a couple of "performance hurdles"; it seems that there is disagreement not only over the nature of the agreement but also over which of two audited financial reports is to be used in determining whether the company met its targets (CDC redid all its statements when it dumped Arthur Anderson and in the re-audit netted an additional $10M). We have inhouse staff that can help our General Counsel to review the financial statements and evaluate the soundness of the case, but assuming that there's a case to be made, and assuming that the boss doesn't settle, we'll be in need of a genuine credential-bearing CPA willing to review the case and testify as an expert witness.
Exact information about fees (lowish, no doubt), dates ("not for a couple of months, at least"), and location ("somewhere in North Carolina") aren't available just yet, but we thought we'd try to look early on for any interested-in-principle party. We appreciate all replies or leads.
