I've looked into that angle too, after several people recommended substitute teaching. I discovered that out here in Kansas City you need to have a state teaching certificate to serve as a substitute. There might be a poor school district around town that doesn't require a teaching certification, but I haven't looked too comprehensively.

On a related note, I met this anarchist teen yesterday when we were playing soccer here. He goes to a high school over by the big Sprint corporate HQ campus. When my sister went to this high school it was called "Hollywood High" and evidently that nickname still fits. The teen I talked to told me that the high school had several anarchists and that they were always being harassed by the school cops and authorities for simple political speech. He reports that a majority of the kids do drugs while at school. It sounds like high schools have the sort of problems one would expect from an institution that treats its inmates like inmates.
