Or at least that's the implied logic - just ask DeLong. But Sharon, he's just an "authoritarian", that convenient, but ill-defined, catch-all conceptual black box for disposing of fascist trends too politically inconvenient to investigate. Just ask Berlet.

"There is something about this issue that drives too many lefties round the bend, btw."

Must be because they are "really" antisemites, huh? I know you didn't say that, but....

C'mom, Pugliese! What's with _your_ obsession with the issue of antisemitism?

Don't you think that the very _pro-semitic_, nuclear armed proto-fascism that confronts us is a far greater danger than antisemitism right now? I know that part of the left still locked in a New Deal-CPUSA-United Against Fascism 1930's timewarp (and don't forget to vote Democrat) finds that hard to fathom, but it's time to catch up with the present!

As I've said before, that could all change if the US suffers disaster in the ME and as a result, a rightwing backlash causes Israel to be dumped (and blamed, of course). But we are a long way from that, and therefore the overemphasis on antisemitism by some is simply completely out of proportion to the real situation - when not politically suspect.

"Palestinians, absolutely need more voices in Congress. Effective ones.McKinney isn't it."

Pious promises. McKinney ain't the sharpest tool in the shed, but the Palestinians don't have _any_ voices in Congress, or much of anywhere else in the USA. And they will continue to not have any voice, smart, dumb or otherwise, so long as the AIPAC-neocon hit squads are on the prowl.

That's the real problem, not "antisemitism".

On the "laundry list" nothing that makes her any more progressive than any other member of the Progressive Caucus in the House. The problems are elsewhere.

Yup. When asked by a reporter why she lost, her Dad, a state legislator in Georgia said, "The J-E-W-S." Not rightist Jews in AIPAC, just "The Jews." (There is something about this issue that drives too many lefties round the bend, btw. The San Diego Congressional District Green Party candidate, Lawrence Rockwook aka Capt. Rock, on a DSA list, who has done good work as a veteran on war crimes for AIUSA, called me, a, "Jew baiter, " which is just bizarre.)

McKinney as I've brought up before, by quoting and citing a long paper, reprinted by the Black Commentator, by a Black political consultant, had as her volunteer coordinator, in the race she lost, Steve, "Jewish Doctots Inject Black Babies With AIDS, " Cokely. A comment that got him fired by Farrakhan.
