Really, most of the wild conspiracy theories come from the right and far right. They seem to be most likely believed by right wing, nationalist disenfranchised populists in the US. I guess for the Democrats it's tragic that such people, when they vote at all, either vote for right wing populists running as libertarians or independents, or they vote REPUBLICAN because 'there's a war on'.
