And the secret's in the audience, not the megalomaniacal producers of the stuff: Rotten apples are compatible with the dogma that our system is all about spreading democracy and human comfort. Just a few evil cabalists, that's the only trouble. If the problem is institutional, one has to rethink everything one learned in high school and on TV.
