Safari is indeed based on KHTML, and Apple have been doing the right thing about feeding their improvements back in (started going in with KDE 3.2). It shouldn't be a hard sell to get lefties to avoid IE, which is part of a rather transparent MS strategy to assume the role of corporate gatekeeper to what should become one of the world's key public spaces.
