I find the cheapest of the dells the most aesthetically pleasing but that is probably because my tastes are decidedly modernist--simple clean lines. The titanium MAC series has that soft airplane wing look to it. It sits in that neo-modernist category, which I like but find a little to slick, like good dinner jazz. As for the aesthetic qualities of the OS/GUI, I personally like Knoppix 3.4. For those of you that are a little intmidated by Linux this is definitely the distro to go with and the GUI is stunning.
