[lbo-talk] on-line banking

Run away from on-line banking, at least for your primary account for the time being. I've lost much money that has simply disappeared into foreign accounts and is not recoverable according to both the authorities and the banking institution I use. It isn't as if the last place the money was parked before being withdrawn isn't known and the names on the accounts are also known. This does little good sometimes. I now keep a separate account just to use for on-line transactions and put only enough in it to complete those transactions. Any other way is asking to get burned. The bank does not guarantee that your money is safe either. As an account to use only for that purpose it's not a terrible thing but limit your exposure by only putting the amount of money necessary to cover the next immediate transaction.
