It is certainly ironic that after all the energy expended on denouncing progressives who refused to get on board with whatever disappointment the Democrats were going to serve up this election cycle, the Dems worst enemy turns out to be their nominee. The latest section of the party base reported to be suffering from neglect are women. Kerry's lead among women has slipped from 10% in August to 5% in mid-September ('Kerry's Once Sizable Lead With Female Voters Slips", http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/politics/la-na-women19sep19,1,6235459.story?coll=la-news-politics-national). To make matters worse this is supposed to be cojones week for the Democratic ticket as Kerry & Edwards talk tough on Iraq and al-Qaeda. Not exactly a promising sign that Kerry will be able to stop the rot.
