c'mon Caroll, in hindsight it is true Stalin was an animal and anyone under his foot would have been glad for the western hostility yet at the same time many a Russian and I dare say western socialists were right for supporting the soviet union. Only those with a science of the future can make such proclamations. Do you now = god. I think not and suspect neither do you. Try reading Darkness at Noon (1946) and then read Humanism and Terror (1947 the response).
