Do you really think both cases are identical? We all know that Michael doesn't work for the Democrats, but my metaphor is directed at his arguments which sound like they come from the Democrats. The people who spread rumors that I am a cop, on the other hand, did so to destroy my reputation. They were bargaining on the fact that there are activists out there who don't know me and might buy into the rumor.
I'm the target of many rumor campaigns. It kind of goes with the territory, but it speaks pretty badly about contemporary activists.
I think I'm entitled to a personal attack once in a while. Michael is a tough guy who can handle my barbed comments.
