ACTION: Please contact CNN/U.S. president Jonathan Klein and urge him to condemn Glenn Beck's chilling threats against Muslims.
[WS:] This is nonsense, cheap talk, feet stomping, if you will. Media execs know better than that. This kind of inflammatory rhetoric sells. It attracts audiences, increases ratings, and thus revenue. Therefore media execs give it a green light, even if privately they have to hold their noses. After all, pecunia non olet.
The New Yorker magazine had a piece on this aspect of CNN operations not long ago. In this light, writing protest letters is silly - at best, an attempt to sweep ocean with a broom, if not a sign of impotence and frustration.
