SINGAPORE, July 14 (Reuters) - Joint Asian Derivates Exchange (JADE), a joint venture between the Chicago Board of Trade (BOT.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and the Singapore Exchange (SGX) (SGXL.SI: Quote, Profile, Research), will start trading on September 25 with its first futures contract.
SGX in a statement said on Friday that the first futures contract will be based on a natural rubber grade called Technically Specified Rubber 20 or TSR 20.
"The contract will be traded on the CBOT electronic platform and cleared by SGX Derivatives Clearing House," it said.
After TSR 20, JADE aims to launch a futures contract based on crude palm oil by the fourth quarter of 2006, SGX said.
Market participants have "voiced a strong preference" for a U.S. dollar-denominated, physically-delivered crude palm oil futures contract, the statement said.
