Much like Hitchens' insistence on the moral perfection of the Kurds, Micheal seems compelled to rush to the aid of 'The Jews' (always with the definite article) any time, day or night. Of course, Hitchens is an opportunist and cynic whereas Pugliese seems far more genuinely sensitive to human suffering. That said, his need to run to a low worm like Cooper suggests a psychological need to bask in the reflected moral splendor of a persecuted minority. This also gets back to Doug's TR comments the other day about certain 'leftists' feeling the need to prove themselves sufficiently martial/acquiesce to ruling class war-making to prove themselves 'serious.'
