Did I say that it was a fact that Chavez had been appointed dictator-for-life? My comment was directed at the liklihood that Chavez will turn into yet another leftist strongman, or, "dictator for life."
I base my opinion on several facts. The fact that most leaders or politicians when they get into office try to stay in office. The fact that Cuba is currently being led by a dictator who has been in power for
47 years. The fact that most leftist leaders throughout history have sought more and more power and have defended their tenure in office because of "external threats." You have provided one of those justifications that the Amen Left uses with Latin American leftist leaders, that the U.S. government and the CIA are trying to undermine them.
We all know that the U.S. government is trying to undermine Chavez. Yet, I see the same old uncritical support of Chavez coming from the American left. One typical manifestation of that support is for people to jump on critics such as myself.

I was being critical of Chavez! I'd like to see some criticism coming from other folks.

All hail Chavez! Supreme savior of the Left!
