She was just now sentenced to 28 months, the government had asked for
360. Even more important bail was continued pending appeal to the 2nd
Circuit Cour t of Appeals. There is a substantial chance this outrageous
trial will be thrown out on appeal - for one thing, the judge had to
tell the jury repeatedly that horrendous (like the Luxor massacre story)
evidence they had just heard was not to be considered against Lynne
Stewart, literally hundreds of times. Yet despite this relatively
successful outcome this whole vile proceeding has been a major slide
into the police state night.
