Here's an interesting take on the Virginia Tech shootings by one of our local KC activists:

Virginia Tech and security rationing: a left market anarchist analysis http://www.bradspangler.com/blog/

Spangler's take raises some interesting points. American gun control laws and our nanny state take security choices out of the hands of ordinary people. We clamor for more police in order to feel safe, instead of learning techniques to defend ourselves or proactively improving our communities to reduce violent crime. I'm pretty nuetral on the pro-gun vs. gun control debate, but why should we be putting our safety and well-being in the hands of a government which constantly shows that it doesn't care about the health and well-being of even "law-abiding" citizens?
