[WS:] Your last sentence nicely contradicts your earlier argument. If it were for economic effciency, as you claim, the government would mandate similar changes in other, far more costly areas, such as fuel efficiency, health care or land use. The fact that it does not clearly indicates that the claimed effciency is really an ex post facto rationalization manufactured by closet apologists of US capitalism - and the real reason is something else and far more obvious - handouts to well connected businessmen, which has always been the essence of American crony capitalism from the day this country was founded.
