(1) Cro-magnons were homo-sapiens. They entered Europe 40K years ago from Africa.

(2) Every time I read anthropologists on this, the time estimate has changed, but the last I read (Tattersall) the (speculative) estimate was 100 thousand to 70 thousand for biologically modern humans.

Ravi! Cro-Magnon is just one group of homo sapiens. Homo-sapeins and "Anatomically modern humans" are just different names for the same species.
