There are a lot of things wrong with the U.S., but a lack of choice among consumer goods wouldn't rank very high on my list. I lost count at 30,000 items in a typical supermarket. For anyone above the Wal- Mart level of income - and they really do skew towards the rural bottom - there's an enormous choice of products and level of service. There's plenty that's lacking, like health insurance and meaning, but not consumer goods. I can't imagine what you're talking about.
