Resistance takes many forms, and direct action is just one of them. Those of us in the US have to reach (and teach) Americans that (1) the cost of empire is much bigger and costlier than most people realize ($770 billion in military spending this year alone, as CDI's Defense Monitor noted), and (2) imperialism doesn't pay - which means humanizing would-be enemies (Iran, Korea, Syria, the global periphery in general), showcasing the human cost of neoliberal economics/neocon wars, etc.
