To his credit, MSNBC's Chris Matthews, who interviewed the Columbia students as well as that NYC Councilman, emphasized that he thought Columbia President Lee Bollinger acted disgracefully in sandbagging Ahmadinejad. He told the Columbia students: "I was not impressed by your president today. He struck me as a lousy host who was afraid to engage in a dialog. He had to dump on the guy [Ahmadinejad] before he could speak." Two clips from the show:
(1) Here's Matthews interviewing William Nosal, a member of Columbia University College Republicans, and Sarah Leonard, a member of Columbia University College Democrats. It should surprise no one that Nosal (pronounced KNOWS-all) knows nothing: <http://video.msn.com/v/us/msnbc.htm?f=00&g=9ac2574a-0745-4e6b-9dd7-38ee74d851ba&p=Source_Hardball&t=c1150&rf=http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036697/&fg=>
(2) Here's Matthews interviewing Pat Buchanan and NYC Councilman David Weprin. I get the impression Weprin wants to bomb Iran only if he himself gets to serve as bombardier: <http://video.msn.com/v/us/msnbc.htm?f=00&g=00758feb-6ae1-4969-bd46-145f48b5dfee&p=Source_Hardball&t=c1150&rf=http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036697/&fg=>
