Well, Patrick lives in South Africa, where there are not a lot of shiny toys to go around and it's not likely there will be any time soon. But a lot of the world - a billion people in the rich countries, and a couple of billion more in Asia and Latin America - has the toys and/or wants some more. I guess part of the overhyping of crisis is that it might take the toys away from those billions, which will prompt them to...wake up and demand socialism?
