not that i give a bat's eyelash about palin, but here's the deal. i have been on vacation and gloriously ignoring almost all news. my son was the one who said, "mom, check it out. look who mccain picked as veep." and i stood there, stunned, and then, i admit it, grinning like a fool because at least this would be more entertaining. and she had cool glasses. my almost dil works at visionworks, so i figured, if anything, doll would pick up a gig as a spokemodel or something.
but that's as far as my curiosity got me. i had the white sands of a limpdick beach awaiting me, a pile of unread new yorkers, a horribly boring biography of sheila munro, and the ramblings of our favorite cokehead to read. whatever. my ass was heading for a beach chair.
right after 911, this guy i know mentioned that it's a worthy exercise to, every so often, ignore the news for awhile and then observe an event -- like watching the rnc on cspan.
and it has been enlightening to observe how the likes of jezebel's jessica or people on this list or at another list interpreted palin's speech.
i had to laff that no one picked up on the fact that she acknowledged that she was a shite cook.
so, i've pretty much continued to ignore the details on palin. because i've got other things to do. but i did have to look up with wolf thing.
from reading that, i didn't get the sense that she hunted wolves. it's a practice, controversial, used to control wolves as predators, to keep the caribou and moose populations up.
so, is there something else that's going on with this story?
