[lbo-talk] so much for post-partisanship

On the other hand, things have gone so well for Obama (riding such a high - people standing up for ME?) that it may be a bit of a shock to run up to, face to face, balls to the wall, this traditional Republican obstinance and destroy-all-government philosophy. I doubt if Obama will cave (although there are already indications that he may cave on some "unimportant" issues like more money for family planning agencies.) Still, running into brick walls at full speed always causes one to reflect.

Bye-the-bye on Republican destroy government philosophy, Ohio is expecting billion dollar shortfalls in the budget, so the radio reports that some Republican state senator has recommended cutting the number of State agencies (NOT the personnel - the agencies themselves!) by 50%.
