I had read it was because the effects will vary across the globe. Some area will be warmer but other areas (like where I live) are forecast to be cooler. The term climate change captures tis better than simple global warming. I also notice a few years back that the term anthropomorphic climate change evolved to the more correct anthropogenic climate change.
