[lbo-talk] My little cowtown radio show starts at 5 PM CST, 6 PM EST

Sudden, unannounced two hour sets ARE a surprise... Because my show was all new release material less then six weeks old, and because I forced an each set-is-louder-than-the-last structure on the show, I reviewed records for 3-4 hours in order to pre-program everything for myself... the adrenaline (or nor-epinephrine) rush of more freeform shows is quite different, eh? Do you know of WFMU? They, I think, were the first genuinely free-from station in the US and may still be the best and most eclectic... they certainly provided the model for everything I tried to do. As you become more comfortable, you'll surely realize that you are going to screw up... and the only reasonable response is: "So what?" Keep a clear record of what you've played, do your best to get it right (I always included the label info), correct what you detect and let the rest take care of itself. Live is thrilling and worth all the (usually over-played) risks. -A
