[lbo-talk] Julian Assange arrested in London

That is a quite interesting article. I always wondered why Ardin would press charges. They are at the lowest level of three levels. Why would she not just tell him off and warn others about him. It seems odd too that she never did anything in fact threw a party for him until after she found out he had sex with the second woman. If these rumours are true maybe someone convinced her that if she wanted to support Wikileaks she should drop the charge.

I notice that Rundle discusses some details of the sex charges. Are the actual charges available somewhere do you know? I thought the details were sealed. The judge has asked for evidence from the Swedish authorities before the Dec. 14th meeting. However UK authorities have denied Assange access to his lawyer until Monday just one day before the next hearing. This seems bizarre and only gives the lawyer a single day to prepare his case.

Cheers, k hanly

Crikey's an Australian subscriber-funded daily email newspaper - I subscribe and it's pretty good. I've posted stuff by Guy Rundle here before, he's definitely credible and has been following Wikileaks for a long time. As he admits here, though, he's reporting rumour. We'll have to wait and see.
