Not a bad set of replies. Perhaps I should give my own.

Stop calling them or anyone else stupid or ignorant. Then ignore them. We focus on reaching those who might respond to what we have to say or joing in the actions which we can now mount. Under some condtions (not predictable) some of them will in fact join a left movement which is loud and noisty and doing something, some of them will become fascists. It is not elitist to ignore people who, at present, have no desire to listen to us. It IS elititist to dismiss them as human beings because their lived history is not our ived history. I think this obsession of leftists with the far right (which obsessionwas a pain in thenext back in the'60s too) is unhealthy -- and if I were to indulge in psychology. . .But I really don't understand what pleasure leftists get from the obsession.
