Israel has right to defend itself
The international denunciation of Israel over the bloody confrontation with an aid flotilla ignores one essential fact: Israel has the same right to defend itself as every other nation.
The Hamas terrorists who control Gaza are waging war with Israel. That gives Israel the right to establish a blockade around Gaza to keep out materials that may assist in the war-making.
That's what Israel was doing when its commandos boarded one of the ships and were violently set upon by the mixture of jihadists and Israel-hating activists who ignored repeated warnings not to challenge the blockade as well as offers to deliver the emergency supplies after the cargo was inspected. But the "peace" activists wanted a provocation, the more violent the better for their cause.
Those nations - and it looks like the Obama administration is on the verge of making the U.S. one of them - who knee-jerk condemn Israel ought to be worried about the precedent they're setting by denying Israel the same right they all claim to keep their people safe from terror.
