I completely agree. You've said nothing to establish any kind of an actual position. Hence I'm force to defend my antithesis against a non-existent thesis, which is hardly the recipe for a productive discussion. Of course, you're welcome to change this at any time.

Perhaps you think there's some kind of intellectual consensus behind your position, and that I'm the one attacking an established orthodoxy (and, perhaps, obligated to prove my case)? My cursory research into the question has given me no reason to believe this. As I suspected, this seems to be the case of a 1969 coinage (by Screw, incidentally) worming its way into the language and, hence, the collective unconscious.
