I'm sorry, but (1) Obama is extremely intelligent and a capable politician, the problem is just that he uses those talents on behalf of the plutocrats of an Empire in decline. (2) This society was -- and is -- deeply racist and segregated in all sorts of ways, which continue to make life a living hell for people of color, no matter how privileged or well-educated they are. All these programs you're talking about are really tiny drops in the bucket compared to that massive structural reality.
