I meant to post this last week - a very fine cover story in one of the weeklies
about the school situation in Philly.  And there have been many encouraging
signs of resistance over the last week.

The union-busting aspect of it could not be more blatant:

And Knudsen threatened to outsource all custodial, maintenance and
transportation
work to private companies unless union workers could underbid them.
"There are other people out there who do these things, if not better, then
at least less expensively," he said.
