Here's a map of the 37 vote. It matches what you're saying, except for two coastal areas, one between Los Angeles County and Monterey County (wine country) and another that includes Orange County (Reagan Nixon country) and San Diego County (military). There's one two county inland section that voted for it. Not sure what's going on there.
