[WS:] I did not think of Germany when I said that, but EU more generally. The impression that I have is that you more integrated society - people of many ethnic background interacting with each other in everyday life. Here it is quite segregated even in such bastions of liberalism as DC and on every level housing, transportation, bars, how people interact at parties. I did not see such segregation in Europe - which of of course does not meat that there is no racism/xenophobia there.

As to cultural identity politics - I am very partial about it. I think it is a bunch of crap that divides the 99 percent so the 1 percent can rule.
